BEARHEART KOKOPELLI

NATIVE AMERICAN FLUTE PLAYER

Josh Halverson, Ellen Bello, Bernhard MikuskovicsPassionate player and maker of Native American flutes, Bernhard Mikuskovics, released his solo album "Native Heart", which is dedicated to the spirit and music of Native American flutes, under the "Bearheart Kokopelli" moniker in 2016.

In late 2016 he contributed the title track of his new album Native Heart to the compilation CD "Sacred Inspirations Vol. 2" by U.S. based label Spirit Wind Records.

In early 2017 Bernhard Mikuskovics received a Silver Arrow Award for outstanding contributions to the Native American Music Industry by Spirit Wind Records´ CEO Donald Blackfox.

Later in 2017 Bearheart Kokopelli has been nominated for a Native American Music Award and has finally been awarded with a NAMMY (Native American Music Award) in the Native Heart Category (Best contribution by a Non-Native Artist) for the music of his album Native Heart.

Bernhard Mikuskovics, Harald PeterstorferIn early 2018 Bernhard Mikuskovics was awarded again with a Silver Arrow Award for outstanding contributions to the Native American Music Industry.

In the fall of 2018 Bernhard Mikuskovics started a collaboration with outstanding guitarist Harald Peterstorfer, that resulted in the recording of tracks for a new Bearheart Kokopelli album. Both artists recorded two videos of their collaboration on the last day of 2018.

In 2019 Bernhard Mikuskovics was awarded with a Silver Arrow Award for outstanding contributions to the Native American Music Industry the third time in a row!

On June 3rd 2019 Bearheart Kokopelli released his second studio album "Vision Quest", featuring the amazing guitar work of "the classy Harald Peterstorfer", as One World Music´s Steve Sheppard writes in his album review.

Native American Style Flute AwardSoon afterwards, in the same month of its release, Bearheart Kokopelli won an international Global Music Award for Outstanding Achievements with Vision Quest!

In 2020 Bearheart Kokopelli was honoured with a Native American Style Flute Award for the music of his album "Vision Quest" in the "Shining Star" category (outstanding NASF performance on an album, a single or a full-length music video, which was released commercially), received a One World Music Award for "Vision Quest" in the "Best Flute Album" category and released the multiinstrumental music-track "Walk in Beauty", in which he used different instruments such as Native American Flute, Rav Vast, Didgeridoo and Overtone Singing, worldwide as a digital single.

In January 2021 Bearheart Kokopelli received an international Global Music Award for Outstanding Achievements with Walk in Beauty!

The German name Bernhard means "Heart of a bear" and stands for courage and strength while Kokopelli is the name of an ancient shamanic symbol for "the universal fluteplayer", who creates the world by playing his flute and who is in resonance with all parts of creation.

Kokopelli symbols were found on many petroglyphs throughout Central America.

Combined the names "Bearheart" and "Kokopelli" stand for the archetypical shamanic fluteplayer with a strong heart & personality.
